NON-VIOLENT COMMUNICATION: A LANGUAGE OF COMPASSION BY MARSHALL ROSENBERG
I just returned from a week in Seattle where I took the Level 1 course of “Non-violent communication: a language of compassion”. Learning this “language” gives me the words to be able to think and relate on the level of feelings and needs. I can see clearly when I use negative talk on myself and others, and why “pure encouraging comments” are so powerful. I have learned how to make requests and what I am inadvertently doing that turns them into unwelcome demands.
Having the words of this new “language” makes it easy to operate on this deeper level of relationships and being. I am so glad I took the course.
Ironically, when I wrote the book, “How to Succeed. Guaranteed! The Instruction Manual.” I cited Marshall Rosenberg’s book as a good resource to help groups work out “rocky situations” that might come up while participating in a Success Team. I laugh now because it is the perfect method.
So if your team feels stuck, or desires to go to a deeper level of connection, but doesn’t know how…then get Rosenberg’s book (and workbook) to give your group another tool of success.
